This Privacy Policy explains how Good Dog, Inc. and our subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Good Dog”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collect, use, process, and disclose your information in connection with the Good Dog website, including any subdomains thereof, and any other websites through which Good Dog’s services are available (collectively, the “Site”), our mobile, tablet and other smart device applications, and application program interfaces (collectively, the “Application”), and all associated services that posts or links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Service,” and the Site, Application, and Services together are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Good Dog Platform”), and the rights and choices available to individuals with respect to their information. It’s important to us that we’re transparent with you about our policies regarding privacy and that you remain in control of your personal data, so if you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected] and a member of our team will be happy to speak with you.
If you see an undefined term in this Privacy Policy (such as "Listing" or "Good Dog Platform"), it has the same definition as outlined in our Terms of Service.
There are three general categories of information we collect.
We collect information you share with us when you use the Good Dog Platform.
We may collect information that others provide about you when they use the Good Dog Platform or obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through the Good Dog Platform.
We may maintain pages for Good Dog on social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google, YouTube, Instagram, and other third party platforms. When you visit or interact with our pages on those platforms, the platform provider’s privacy policy, not Good Dog’s Privacy Policy, will apply to your interactions and their collection, use and processing of your personal information. You or the platforms may provide us with information through the platform, and we will treat such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We collect, use, store, and process information about you to provide, understand, improve, and develop the Good Dog Platform to give you a great experience. We also use it to create and maintain a trusted and safer environment. Collecting information helps us detect fraudulent activities and behavior, including identifying would-be scammers. We do not sell your data to third parties to market their products to you.
We may share your information at your direction or as described at the time of sharing, such as when you authorize a third party application or website to access your Account (e.g., if you link your Account to a social media account, such as Facebook).
To help facilitate transactions, we may share your information with other Members as follows:
The Good Dog Platform lets you publish information that is visible to the general public. For example:
We may use third party service providers to help us provide services related to the Good Dog Platform. For example, service providers may help us: (i) verify or authenticate identification; (ii) check information against public databases; (iii) assist us with background checks, fraud prevention, and risk assessment; or (iv) provide customer service, advertising, or payments services. These providers have limited access to your information to perform these tasks on our behalf, and are contractually obligated to use it consistent with this Privacy Policy.
Good Dog may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement or governmental authorities, or authorized third parties if we are required to do so by law, regulation, or if such disclosure is reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with a legal process and to respond to claims asserted against Good Dog; (ii) to respond to verified requests relating to a criminal investigation or alleged or suspected illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other of our users to legal liability; (iii) to enforce and administer our Terms of Service or other agreements with Members; (iv) for fraud investigation and prevention, risk assessment, customer support, product development and debugging purposes; (v) to protect the rights, property or personal safety of Good Dog, its employees, its Members, or members of the public; or (vi) as determined by Good Dog.
We will attempt to notify Members about these requests unless notice is prohibited by the applicable legal process.
We may display parts of the Good Dog Platform (e.g., Listing pages) on sites operated by Good Dog’s business partners, using technologies such as widgets or APIs. If Listings are displayed on a partner’s site, information from public profile pages may also be displayed.
We may disclose your personal information to our professional advisors, including but not limited to lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.
We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of our business or assets in connection with a business transaction (or potential business transaction) such as a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy or dissolution.
We may share aggregated information (information about users that is combined together so that it does not identify or reference individual users) and non-personally identifiable information for industry and market analysis or other business purposes.
We may review, scan or analyze your communications on the Good Dog Platform for fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, product development, research, and customer support purposes. For example, as part of our fraud prevention efforts, we may scan and analyze messages to mask contact information and references to other websites. In some cases, we may also scan, review, or analyze messages to debug, improve, and expand product offerings. We use automated methods where reasonably possible. However, occasionally we may need to manually review some communications, such as for fraud investigations and customer support, or to assess and improve the functionality of these automated tools. We do not review, scan or analyze your communications to send third party marketing messages to you, and we do not sell reviews or analyses of these communications.
You may link your Good Dog Account with your account at a third party social networking service. The information you provide to us from the linking of your accounts may be stored, processed and transmitted for fraud prevention and risk assessment purposes. The publication and display of information that you provide to Good Dog through this linkage is subject to your settings and authorizations on the Good Dog Platform and the third party site. If you link or share to any third party site from the Good Dog Platform, your use of the third party site will be governed by its privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
The Good Dog Platform may contain links to other websites, mobile applications, and other online services operated by third parties. These links are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. In addition, our content may be included on web pages or in mobile applications or online services that are not associated with us. We do not control third party websites, mobile applications or online services, and we are not responsible for their actions. Other websites, mobile applications and services follow different rules regarding the collection, use and sharing of your personal information. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of the other websites, mobile applications and online services you use.
You may review, update or delete the information in your Account at any time by logging into your Account and reviewing your Account settings and profile. You are in control over the content we are allowed to use on the Gooddog.com website and you may delete the information in your Account and take your content with you whenever you need to.
To cancel and delete your Account, you may send an email to [email protected] at any time. Note that information that you have shared with others (like Reviews or forum postings) may continue to be publicly visible on the Good Dog Platform after your Good Dog Account is cancelled and deleted.
You can always opt out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us at [email protected]. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.
